Jenny Childhood  Jenny

Jenny has owned and worked in pharmacy for over 30 years, having been raised in the family pharmacy business. Energetic, caring, optimistic and knowledgeable – there’s no lengths Jenny wont go to, to care for a patient. It’s in her blood, and the DNA of our pharmacy. Jenny has specialist training in non-sterile compounding.

Jenny

Proprietor

Gavin
Gavin chose a career in pharmacy because it meshed his love of chemistry and desire to help people perfectly. With over 8 years of experience in the field, genuine empathy and inherent leadership abilities – he has fitted right in at Heathershaw’s. A self-confessed workaholic, he once represented Australia on a national level in the sport of badminton. He loves going on long walks and is a talented karaoke-ist (ask us, we have proof!).

Michelle
Michelle brings 11 years’ worth of experience in pharmacy and her knowledge of compounding to the pharmacy. She always strives to work with dedication and compassion – considering the well-being and requirements of her patients in every decision. Having recently moved from Tassie to Melbourne, she’s excited to explore all the restaurants in the city, but is still getting used to the traffic!

Amy
The lovely Amy has joined us all the way from New Zealand. Having spent four years in community pharmacy, Amy combines her love for the subject and desire to help others to support and connect with patients on their health journey. Her presence in the dispensary also brightens everyone’s day with her infectious happiness and caring nature!

Maria
With over 20 years of experience in pharmacy, Maria brings with her a desire to help the community and a calming demeanor. She’s passionate about her work and is always willing to learn and grow. Having worked in Ashburton before, she’s feeling at home with us in Glen Iris as well. Outside of work, Maria prioritises spending time with her family. She says she loves to cook but claims not to be very good at it. We look forward to working out if that is true!

Jill, Jenny’s mother, has owned and worked in pharmacy all her working life, since her first pharmacy job in the Block Arcade in Melbourne’s CBD where she met Jen’s father, David (also a pharmacist). She’s looked after generations of families through good times and bad, in Kooyong and now in Glen Iris. Jill is committed to staying up to date with all the latest health developments, and famous for her formula for compounded nappy rash cream.

Lizzie
A graduate in Health Promotions and now a student of Pharmacy, Lizzie’s dedication to the subject and its practice shine through in her work every single day. Outside of work and study, Lizzie is also a student of yoga and loves a good game of billiards. She’s also a big foodie but ironically cannot cook to save her life! Already wise beyond her years, Lizzie is a cheerful, lively, and empathetic addition to our growing team.

Pharmacy Intern

Jen Childhood  Jen

Jen is our resident cosmetics consultant. Returning to us after having two beautiful young children, she is a master at our Art Deco make-up range (which, incidentally, is Germany’s number one brand!), and can be found applying make-up to our customers, ahead of their big night out. With an infectious laugh, and real smarts, being around Jen just makes your life better.

Fiona Childhood   Fiona

Fiona has worked with us for 7 years, and has a heart made of gold. With her special interest in wound care, she tends to customers presenting to the pharmacy with cuts and wounds of all sorts, and has a great knowledge of complementary medicines in the form of Bioceutical products. The bright and friendly feel of our pharmacy owes much to her knowledge and attention to detail. That’s probably her lovely smile you’ll see when you first walk through the door.

Vida
Vida has been working as a part-time pharmacy assistant for over 8 years now. Prior to that, she was a teacher for a decade before she took an intermission to raise her son. Full of exuberance and positivity, Vida brings with her extensive product knowledge. Vida is self-confessed boring mum now. We would beg to differ! She does aqua aerobics a couple of times a week and used to be quite the dancer.

Charlie Childhood  Charlie

Trained in s 2 and 3 medications, Charlie brings his quirky interests in all things Doctor Who, Nanoblocks and history to the pharmacy. Ask for a “Fun Fact”, and Charlie can give you one of those too. A former delivery staff, and Jenny’s son, Charlie brings a sense of warmth and joy to our patients. Nice kid that one.

Luca
Luca is our resident VCE student, and performs a number of back-of-house roles within the pharmacy. When he’s not hitting the books, Luca loves to attend Geelong and Melbourne Victory games, and play FIFA (he’s quite the expert he tells us). He also loves to travel, and one of his ambitions include attending every World Cup from Russia 2018 onwards.

Luca

Pharmacy Assistant

Isabelle
Isabelle is a student of Psychology at Swinburne University. Having always had an interest in health and well-being, she chose to learn the ropes of pharmacy with us in an effort to help educate customers about the importance of day-to-day health. She believes it’s a sphere of healthcare a lot of people don’t know about. Outside of work and studies, Isabelle is a talented cook (we can vouch for it) and used to be hip hop dancer (we hope to vouch for it someday). Her cheerful presence has already brightened up the pharmacy!

Isabelle

Pharmacy Assistant

Amanda
Amanda’s currently a student of science at Monash University. After spending quite some time working at a pizza shop and tutoring high school children, this is Amanda’s first job in pharmacy. When she’s not busy working, she spends her time on the field playing lacrosse and netball. Now that travel has made its way back into our lives, our already well-traveled Amanda is looking forward to visiting Europe and South America in the near future. With her diligence, enthusiasm, and positive attitude, Amanda is an excellent addition to our team.
